About DelWayne

I Didn't Find
the Path.
I Became It.

I spent years performing strength while quietly falling apart. Until I stopped running from myself and started doing the real work. Now I help others do the same.

Mission
"How we do anything is how we do everything."
The Journey

A story built from
real transformation,
not theory.

This isn't a polished origin myth. It's what actually happened. The discipline, the unraveling, the silence, and what came out the other side.

Chapter 01
USN

Eleven Years of Naval Service

I served for 11 years. The military gave me something most people spend a lifetime chasing: discipline, resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure when everything in you wants to quit.

"You can become highly functional on the outside while slowly going numb on the inside."

That's what the Navy also showed me. The cost of living disconnected from yourself and everyone else around you. Strength without self-awareness eventually becomes survival mode. That chapter gave me grit. It also forced me to later rediscover peace.

Chapter 02

The Dark Night

There was a period where everything externally may have looked manageable. Internally, I was unraveling. Anxiety. Emotional heaviness. A deep disconnection from purpose. Pain I hadn't yet had the courage to name.

"Rock bottom rarely looks dramatic. Sometimes it looks like waking up exhausted, feeling empty, and not recognizing the person in the mirror."

It lasted a lot longer than I wanted because healing doesn't happen when you're pretending nothing is wrong. It shifts when you finally become honest. Those years humbled me. They broke the version of me built on coping and forced me to build something real.

Chapter 03

Going Plant-Based

Ten years ago while still in the military, I made a decision that started to create the shift for me, not just what I ate, but how I related to my own body. I wanted energy, clarity, emotional stability. A body that felt supported instead of burdened.

"Food became medicine. Discipline started to become self-respect."

The changes were immediate and lasting: clearer thinking, better emotional regulation, a stronger connection to myself. It stopped being about diet and became about alignment. That shift opened a door I didn't know existed. It would take me some time to connect all the other dots but I owe this stage the credit for stepping outside of the box and creating a better foundation for a healthier more holistic life.

Chapter 04

Sitting in Silence

Part of my path took me into spaces of deep stillness. Teachings rooted in presence, inner mastery, and the kind of peace that can't be purchased or performed. I was searching for relief from the noise in my own mind. Only to find that it wasn't just noise. It was my higher self speaking to me. Wanting to help guide me.

"Peace wasn't somewhere else. It had to be cultivated within me this whole time."

What I learned was simpler than expected. Healing is less about becoming someone new and more about remembering who you were before the world taught you to abandon yourself. That truth became the foundation of everything I teach.

What I Stand For

The principles that
guide everything.

01
Honesty over comfort

Real change starts with radical and absolute honesty. About where you are, what you've been avoiding, and what it's truly costing you.

02
Wholeness, not performance

Health isn't an aesthetic. It's how you think, sleep, eat, relate, and show up. We work on all of it.

03
Discipline as devotion

Structure isn't restriction. The right rituals are acts of respect toward who you truly are.

04
Identity before action

You don't think your way into a new life. You become aware of who you truly are, then the actions follow naturally.

The Brand

Black Vegan Man
started as a food vlog.
It became a movement.

What began as documenting a plant-based lifestyle grew into something greater. A platform built around the idea that wellness is whole, identity is the foundation, and the way you do anything is the way you'll do everything.

"I didn't set out to build a brand. I set out to heal myself and realized other people needed the same map."

Today BVM is a coaching practice, a retreat experience, and a growing community of people who are done with surface-level fixes and ready for real transformation.
